Paediatric Life Support – 10 CPD points
Paediatric patients account for one third of all patient visits to the Emergency Department. Recognition and management of the ill child is an art as well as a science.The Paediatric Life Support for the EMAS aims to make the recognition and resuscitation of the ill child less daunting through a series of short lectures and hands – on skills station.
Day 1 will comprise a series of short lectures followed by hands on skills stations on everything from airway management to nasogastric tube insertion to fluid management .Day 2 will have an exciting array of simulations on commonly encountered conditions in the emergency department like paediatric cardiac arrest , acute gastroenteritis with dehydration , bronchial asthma and seizures.
